Of Balcony > Three Performances about "Pretence"

Beyond a time existed once, two people disguise themselves as a flower to bless those who were cruised by Androgyne, the non-sexed or too-many-sexed. Telling stories in foreign languages, they will not convey any context, whether real nor fictive. Sooner or later, merely did they move their body without words but not for the sake of any Idealism. At that instant, their shells shed and they appear like someone burnt and infected by every existence, resembling all and none.

Praecox Blueprint is recognized as a branching series of performance style led by Steven Pang among many productions by 20 Beans + A Box from 2001. A theatre piece with the same Chinese title in 1995 marked a change of 20 Beans from multi-media performance to a discursive form of collaboration with deliberate multi-narratives. The layers of the "Reals", narrative interfaces, performativity and the theatre per se are the focuses of PB's creativity. Works belong to the same series include: invisible hypothesis, loco-motion 21 (Taipei and HK), etc.

To unashamedly realise the fantasy of this half-an-hour re-construction, we shall first attempt to bridge the gap between _._'s balcony and _._'s veranda. However, we then face the challenge of moving the Loggia of _._ one tier above the terrace of _._, and to further complicate the situation both _._'s and _._'s galleries will then be extended to a 45" hangover. All these spatial configurations, including the most inconceivable one - _._'s revolving balcony - will be carried out in the virtual, even though Mrs. _._'s website is no longer running. The decision to go virtual is purely based on the flexibility of virtual space and its resemblance to our psycho-geography.

The Psychogeoraphy (of Balcony) is the first theatrical work Jamsen Law produces under the label - npool. It aims to bring artists from different disciplines together in order to produce artworks through the various kinds presentation of the video medium, such as video theatre, single-channel video, video installation, web video and interactive video.
